Shopify App Detector

Paste a store address and see which Shopify apps it runs. Free, no sign-up.

Free, no sign-up. We read only the store’s public homepage.

What it can and can’t see

Detected

  • Apps with a theme extension — named directly
  • Apps registering a web pixel
  • Apps injecting a script tag — identified by vendor
  • Store type: native, Buy Button or headless

Not detected

  • Apps with no storefront footprint — shipping, accounting, back-office
  • App version, install date or plan — never exposed publicly
  • Anything behind a login

This is why we report “none detected”, never “none installed”.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Shopify app detector work?

It reads the store’s public homepage once and looks for four signals: theme app extension assets served from Shopify’s CDN, registered web pixels, scripts injected by older apps, and the store’s own Shopify identity. No login, no account access, and nothing that isn’t already served to any visitor.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, no credit card, no email required.

Why does it say “no apps detected” for a store I know uses apps?

Apps with no storefront footprint — shipping, accounting, back-office tools — leave no trace on the homepage, so they cannot be seen this way. About one Shopify store in five shows zero apps for this reason. “No apps detected” is never the same as “no apps installed”.

Can it detect every app?

No. Apps that register a web pixel are detected but sometimes identifiable only by a numeric ID, because there is no public registry mapping those IDs to app names. Those are reported separately rather than guessed at.

Does it work on stores that aren’t on Shopify?

It will tell you the store isn’t Shopify. It also recognises Buy Button and headless Shopify setups, which a simple “is cdn.shopify.com present” check misses entirely.

Do you store the domains people check?

Lookups are answered from our existing dataset where we already hold the store, and checked live otherwise. We do not publish or sell what individual visitors look up.
