Privacy policy

1. Who we are

MyLeadFox operates this website and the application at go.myleadfox.com from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For the personal data described here we are the data controller. You can reach us at hi@myleadfox.com; a person reads every message.

2. What we collect about you

Account data: your email address, a securely hashed password, your name if you provide one, your account settings, and the email addresses of team members you invite. We store passwords using bcrypt and cannot read them, not even to help you.

Billing data: your subscription tier, billing history and a payment processor customer reference. Card numbers are handled entirely by our payment processor and never touch our servers.

Usage data: the searches you run, views you save, exports you take, enrichments you request and API calls you make. We need this to meter your allowance accurately and to diagnose problems you report.

Technical data: IP address, browser type and timestamps in server logs, used for security and abuse prevention, and the region your visit appears to come from, used only to show the right cookie consent default.

Correspondence: the messages you send us and our replies, and whether you are on our product-announcement mailing list.

3. Why we hold it, and on what basis

To provide the service you signed up for: this is performance of our contract with you. Without an email address and a usage record we cannot give you an account or meter it correctly.

To take payment and meet our accounting obligations: contract and legal obligation.

To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and understand how the website and application are used so we can improve them: legitimate interest.

To send service messages such as verification codes, billing notices and material changes to these terms: contract. These are not marketing and you cannot opt out of them while you hold an account.

To send product announcements, and to set the optional analytics and advertising cookies on this website: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or by rejecting cookies.

We do not use your searches or exports to build products for other customers.

4. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open and for 30 days after closure, so an accidental deletion can be reversed. After that it is removed from every table that held it.

Export history is retained for 100 days so you can re-download without a second charge, then deleted.

Billing records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. This is the one category we cannot delete on request.

Server logs are kept for 90 days. Support correspondence is kept for as long as your account exists and 30 days after.

Data produced by the optional analytics and advertising cookies is held by those providers for the periods stated in their own policies, which the cookie policy links to.

5. Who we share it with

Our payment processor, to take payment. Our email providers, to deliver verification codes, service notices and announcements. Our hosting provider, which stores the data at rest. Our enrichment provider, which receives the domain of a shop you enrich and nothing about you. Each is named, with what it does, on the sub-processor page, and each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions.

With your consent, the analytics and advertising providers listed in the cookie policy receive data about your visit to this website. They do not receive anything from the application.

We do not sell your account data to anyone. We may disclose data where legally compelled; where we are permitted to tell you, we will. If MyLeadFox is sold or merged, your data passes to the new owner under this policy and you will be told.

6. Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, withdraw consent, or ask for your data in a portable format. Email hi@myleadfox.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Deleting your data means closing your account: we cannot run an account without an email address and a usage record. Billing records will be retained for the statutory period noted above.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, tell us at hi@myleadfox.com. A person looks into what happened and comes back to you with what we found and what we have changed. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.

7. Cookies

The application sets only the essential cookies it needs to keep you signed in and secure. This marketing website also uses optional analytics and advertising cookies, which run only if you accept them in the consent notice. Every cookie, who sets it and how long it lasts is listed in the cookie policy.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Administrative access is restricted and logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority within the timescales the law requires, and within 72 hours of learning of it wherever that is feasible.

9. Where your data is stored

Your account data and the shop database are stored on servers in the European Union. Some of the companies that help us run the service, listed on the sub-processor page, operate from the United States and receive the data described in section 5. Where a provider is outside the EU we rely on the contractual safeguards it offers for international transfers, stated in its own policy.

10. California residents

If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. All of these are handled by email to hi@myleadfox.com, and we answer within 45 days.

In the ordinary meaning of the words, we do not sell information about our customers. In the wider meaning California law gives them, the business contact routes in our shop database, which are published by businesses to be contacted, are made available to our customers for a fee, and the optional advertising cookies on this website share visit data with advertising platforms. To opt out of either, email hi@myleadfox.com or reject cookies.

11. Children

The service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone younger. If you believe we hold such data, tell us at hi@myleadfox.com and we will delete it.

12. Automated processing and browser signals

The application matches, filters and ranks shop records automatically, and enrichment checks contact routes automatically. None of this makes decisions about you as a person, and nothing we do produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you without a human involved.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal we honour it, and treat it as an instruction not to sell or share your information: advertising cookies stay off and we do not ask you again. Analytics still runs, because the signal covers selling and sharing rather than measurement. You can change it for this site at any time from Cookie settings in the footer. We do not act on Do Not Track, which was withdrawn as a standard.

13. Data protection contact

We are based in the United Arab Emirates and have not appointed a representative in the European Union or the United Kingdom. Every request and question, from any country, goes to hi@myleadfox.com.

14. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we email the address on your account at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Corrections and additions that do not reduce a right take effect on publication. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
